Boldmere SC is one of the longest established swimming clubs in the Midlands, with the largest number of active members of any sports club in the UK's second city. Currently we have over 600 members attending 37 sessions at 6 venues each week, with more than 150 regularly taking part in competitive swimming and water polo events.
The club was formed in the 19th century by a group of enthusiasts who swam regularly in the pools of Sutton Park taking its name from the adjacent village of Boldmere. Boldmere SC provides a base for a diversity of aptitudes, abilities and ages. Our membership includes Eleanor Simmonds MBE the face of the 2012 Paralympic and 2008
BBC YOUNG SPORTS PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR. The club provides opportunities for all abilities from nonswimmers to international champions to enjoy the benefits of water safety, better health, improved fitness and - if appropriate - regular competition. Our current competitive Junior and Senior competitive squads - who regularly make National Finals - are largely composed of swimmers who learned, developed and progressed through the club. With over 30 coaches and 150 volunteers helping run this club, we welcome all ages and abilities- with members enjoying varied opportunities for swimming, water polo and volunteering roles -including officiating - for which we can arrange appropriate training
The day was a huge success and it was great to see everybody having such a good time. The swimmers were all well behaved and polite but also having fun! It was great to be part of it all and get to know the swimmers better. I would like to thank everyone who was so helpful and kind yesterday. You have a great team of volunteers. Boldmere SC has achieved Clubmark status - having earned Swim21 accreditation for both Swimming Instruction and Skill Development. This is only awarded to clubs which meet the stringent requirements set by the ASA.

CRB Statement
All instructors, coaches and poolside volunteers are CRB checked and undergo Child Safeguarding training. Boldmere SC had to provide extensive evidence of this to fulfil Swim 21 Requirements.
