Welcome to Sutton Shooting!
Shooting sports are practised by over 350,000 people in the UK making it a pretty popular sport for both males and females. There is a range of different shooting sports, from archery to rifle and pistol shooting, which can be played both recreationally and competitively.
The National Rifle Association was first founded in the UK in 1860. This then led to the establishment of rifle clubs in all major universities by 1903, meaning shooting has been a practised sport in the UK for hundreds of years. The longstanding British love of shooting sports is strongly reflected in the 43 Olympic medals won by Great Britain between 1896 and 2004.
Shooting is a great low impact sport which can improve your hand-eye coordination and concentration! Shooting is also a very broad access sport as age, gender and disability offer no obstacles against getting involved. It can be played both indoors and out making it a great all year round sport!
Sutton Coldfield is lucky enough to have the facilities that provide the means for local people to participate in this wonderful, traditional sport. In fact you may even meet a few local record holders!
Most shooting clubs are happy to take on people of any ability and gender and with a bit of practise you'll soon have the satisfaction of hitting those targets!
